In 2004, I compiled a list of ten security design strategies for software engineering. In this presentation, I revisit the original slide deck and reflect on the last 20 years of software security.

Camillo Särs is CISO at a successful SaaS scale-up. His 25+ years of experience in information and software security includes 21 years at F-Secure and a stint as DPO and CISO for a publicly traded company, where he built the GDPR compliance framework from scratch. Camillo has a deep understanding of how to continuously improve security across a company. From cybersecurity risk management, through security processes and procedures, to security architecture and technologies, he believes security comes down to the adage "People, Process, and Technology". Out of these, People is the most important, as you cannot apply processes and technologies correctly without the right People and competences.
