Disobey Disobey Disobey

Disobey - organising hacker culture events since 2015

We here at Disobey wish to encourage hacker culture and bring together like-minded individuals at a gathering to share information and to train the skills our adversaries use against us. Our goal is to foster a vibrant community of creators, makers and breakers.

We value encouragement, creativity and sharing and believe everyone can teach us something about the world.

Code of Ethics

Take control of your choices without fear. Create, shape or modify to improve what's here. Find your own path and encourage others to find theirs.

  • Respect privacy
  • Serve and protect the community
  • Share knowledge with the community
  • Act with integrity
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • Avoid FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt)
  • Protect everyones data (encryption etc.)
  • Don't be an asshole
  • If you see someone being an asshole contact: security@disobey.fi

The Hackers Creed

(Adapted from, Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution, Steven Levy, 1984)

  • You can create art and beauty on a computer
  • Access to computers - and anything, which might teach you something about the way the world works should be unlimited and total. Always yield to the Hands-On imperative!
  • All information should be free. Mistrust authority - promote decentralization.
  • Hackers should be judged by their hacking, not bogus criteria such as degrees, age, race, gender or position
  • Computers can change your life for the better

What to expect

Disobey gathers the brightest minds around the hardest problems. As with most things in life, even here you get what you put in. Everyone will have a different experience, but together we can make sure it'll be a good one.

We operate under the Chatham House Rule:

"When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed."
